Logan

Dear Remy,

We first found out that we brought you into the world just after the New Year. We had been trying to conceive you for six months, and you were our Christmas gift.

As you have been growing over the past five months, we have been dreaming about you, growing to love you, and imagining what our lives would be like with you.

We imagined holding you, feeding you, playing with you, and protecting you. We imagined watching you play with grandparents, aunts, and cousins, target shooting with your father, and rollerblading with your mother. Developing interests and talents of your own, growing into a handsome young man, and falling in love.

When we were told that neither we nor you would ever be able to experience any of those things we had imagined for you, the world seemed to fall away from beneath our feet. Nothing made sense, and we couldn't understand why this tragedy had befallen the three of us.

I think maybe we know now, though....you are not a tragedy. You had a very specific purpose with the brief time you had on this earth. It was never to fulfill all the imaginings we had for you.

Your purpose was and is to show us just how strong we are, to show us that if we can get through this, then we can get through anything. To reveal how much your mom and day truly loved each other, and to mak that love even deeper and stronger.
To show us just how precious and fragile life can be and that we must never take it for granted.

You came to us to show us how much we are capable of love. How much we were capable of loving you, despite so briefly getting to know you, loving each other, and being capable of unconditional love that we will also have for your brother or sister when they are brought into our lives in the future.

Your purpose is love, Remy. You are love. There is no greater purpose out there, and you accomplished it totally and completely in the very short time that you were here. You are perfect. Thank you for coming into our lives and doing so well what you were sent here to do.

We love you, Remington "Remy" Fox Myatt and we will remember you every single day for the rest of our lives.

                                                                                                          Love, Mom and Dad
